How to color Space Adventures pages

While we encourage everyone to color in their own was and express themselves through their artwork however they like, we've put together this short guide for anyone wanting a few tips for these space themed pages specifically.

Astronaut suits are mostly white or light gray in real life, so the fun part is the helmet visor. Try a bold teal or deep blue to make it look reflective, or go completely off-script with a hot pink visor - it's your astronaut, your rules. But do remember that just because an astronout suit isn't usually colorful, it doesn't mean that your version shouldn't be. Blue or orange I think would be great choices.
For planets, pick 2-3 colors and blend them in curved bands. Jupiter looks great in burnt orange, sandy yellow, and cream. Earth is classic blue and green - but honestly, a purple and gold Earth looks incredible too. Space is the one category where there genuinely are no wrong colors, so let your imagination run wild.
Dark backgrounds make everything pop. Use deep navy or black for the sky and press firmly for solid coverage. Then leave stars and moons uncolored or use yellow. The contrast does all the work - a white star or bright yellow one on a dark sky looks great, or if you are feeling adventurous, cover the star with glitter .
Colored pencils handle space scenes well because you can layer and build depth. Start light, then press harder in the corners of the sky to create a natural gradient effect.
