Tips for Coloring Your Beagle

Most Beagles have three colors on them at the same time - black, brown, and white. That makes them one of the best dogs to color because you get to use lots of different crayons on the same picture.

The white tip on a Beagle's tail is there on almost every single one. Even if the rest of the tail is dark, the very end is white.

The usual pattern goes like this: the back and the tops of the ears are mostly black, the sides and face have patches of warm brown, and the legs, chest, and muzzle are white. But you don't have to follow the rules - a Beagle in your favorite colors would look just as good.

Because Beagles have short, smooth fur, you don't need to worry about showing fluff or waves. Just color in smooth, even strokes and try not to leave gaps. Press a little harder around the edges of each color patch to make the change from one color to another look neat and clear.

Did you know? Beagles have about 220 million scent sensors in their nose. People only have about 5 million. That's why Beagles are always sniffing everything.

The face is where the fun is. Beagles have big, round, dark brown eyes - leave a small white dot in each one to make them look shiny. Their ears are long and rounded, a bit like soft velvet, and usually a darker brown than the rest of the face. Color them in one smooth, even layer to keep that sleek look.
