How to color Jobs pages

Jobs pages are fun because each role has its own look. Here are a few tips if you need some help deciding how to color some of the printables in this collection or which colors to pick.

Although, as usual on Crafty Josh, we do encourage you to make your own choices and express yourself with your own imagination.

Firefighters usually wear red, yellow, or tan gear, doctors and nurses often look great in sky blue or teal scrubs, and construction workers stand out in orange safety vests and bright yellow helmets.
Colored pencils are helpful for the smaller details that show what each job does - name tags, tools, stethoscopes, badges, and uniform patches. Crayons work well on the bigger shapes like buses, fire trucks, classroom walls, and farm fields, so younger kids can fill the page quickly without getting frustrated.
Try matching the background to the job. A dentist office can use mint green or pale blue walls, a farm scene looks great with grassy green and muddy brown, and a mail carrier page pops with a bright blue sky and gray sidewalks.
You don't have to stick to real-life colors, though. A purple plumber wrench, a neon green teacher desk, or a bright blue firefighter helmet can look awesome - jobs pages are one of the best places to mix familiar details with silly, custom colors.

If your child enjoys these, try our Vehicles coloring pages for some trucks, buses, and moving machines.
