5 creative projects kids can make with USA themed coloring pages

These activities use pages from the collection along with basic supplies you probably already have at home. They work well for rainy afternoons, classroom geography units, or family craft time - no specialty materials needed.

1. Build a USA Road Trip Map

   This is a great way to turn coloring into a geography lesson. Kids color their favorite landmark pages, cut them out, and place them on a large map of the United States in the right locations.

   The Statue of Liberty goes near New York, the Gateway Arch near St. Louis, and the saguaro cactus scene down in Arizona. It's a fun way to learn where things actually are.

   You'll need:

   • 5-10 printed coloring pages (landmarks from different states)
   • A large printed or hand-drawn outline map of the USA
   • Scissors
   • Glue stick
   • Crayons or colored pencils
   • String or yarn (optional, for drawing route lines)
   How to do it:

   • Color and cut out each landmark, trimming closely around the outline.
   • Lay the map on a large sheet of poster board or cardboard for support.
   • Help your child figure out which state each landmark belongs to and glue it in place.
   • If you want, connect the landmarks with string to create a "road trip route" across the country.
