110 Pig Coloring Pages - Free PDF Printables

By: Crafty Josh | Last Update:

Most pig pictures show the same pink cartoon pig with a curly tail, but real pigs are far more interesting than that. Our 110 pig coloring pages show them wallowing in mud, rooting for acorns and snoozing in a heap, and every one is a free printable you can download as a PDF in US Letter or A4.

The simplest pages are made for toddlers and preschoolers, with big round pigs, sleepy piglets and extra-thick outlines that are easy for small hands. Older kids get busier scenes to color, like a truffle hunt in an oak forest, pigs swimming off a sandy island or a pig race at the county fair.

There's a whole range of breeds to discover too, from little Kunekunes with tassels under their chins to woolly Mangalica pigs with curly coats. If your child enjoys these, take a look at our Cow coloring pages and Dogs coloring pages too.

5 fun things to do with Pig coloring pages

These ideas use simple supplies like paint, paper and cardboard tubes from the recycling bin. They're easy to do at the kitchen table or with a whole class.

  1. Give your pig a mud bath

Pigs love a good wallow, so let kids add real "mud" to their coloring. The pig rolling in the muddy puddle and the pig shaking off after its mud bath are perfect for this.

Dabbing on the mud with a sponge is half the fun.

    You'll need:
    • A colored pig page
    • Brown paint
    • A little sand (optional)
    • A small sponge
    How to do it:
    • Color the pig first and let it dry.
    • Mix a spoonful of sand into the brown paint for a gritty, muddy feel.
    • Dab the mud onto the legs, tummy and puddle with the sponge.
    • Leave it flat to dry before hanging it up.

It's the only time getting messy is the whole point.

  2. Count the piglets

A mother pig can have a big litter, with lots of piglets at once. Use the page with the piglets feeding in a row from their mother, then cut out extra piglets for a simple counting game.

It's a fun way to practice numbers with little ones.

    You'll need:
    • The mother pig and piglets page
    • A few extra piglet pages
    • Scissors
    • A pencil
    How to do it:
    • Color the mother pig and lay her on the table.
    • Color and cut out a handful of piglets.
    • Write a number on the back of each piglet.
    • Take turns lining the piglets up beside their mother in the right order.

Older kids can try adding and taking away piglets as they play.

  3. Build a pig ark from a cardboard tube

Outdoor pigs often sleep in a pig ark, a little curved hut in the field. Look at the pig outside its round pig ark, then build your own from a cardboard tube.

Stand your colored pigs outside and you've got a mini pig farm.

    You'll need:
    • A cardboard tube
    • A piece of cardboard for the base
    • Shredded paper for straw
    • Glue, tape and scissors
    • Colored pig pages
    How to do it:
    • Ask a grown-up to cut the tube in half the long way to make a curved roof.
    • Glue the curved half onto the cardboard base.
    • Tuck shredded paper inside for straw.
    • Cut out a few colored pigs and stand them around the ark.

Make two or three arks for a whole row of pig houses.

  4. Go on a truffle hunt

Some pigs are so good at sniffing that people use them to find truffles hidden under the ground. Color the pig hunting for truffles in the woods, then play a hiding game around the house.

The pig gets to be the expert sniffer.

    You'll need:
    • A colored truffle pig page
    • A craft stick
    • Brown paper or tissue paper
    • Tape
    How to do it:
    • Cut out the pig and tape it to a craft stick to make a puppet.
    • Scrunch brown paper into small balls to make "truffles."
    • Hide the truffles around the room while the hunter closes their eyes.
    • Let the pig puppet sniff its way to every truffle.

Count how many truffles each hunter finds.

  5. Make a pig snout mask

The big pig face with the round snout and floppy ears makes a great mask. A paper cup glued over the snout pops it right out from the face.

Kids love oinking their way around in it.

    You'll need:
    • The pig face page
    • A paper plate
    • A small paper cup
    • Glue, scissors and a craft stick
    How to do it:
    • Color the pig face and glue it onto the paper plate.
    • Ask a grown-up to cut out two eye holes.
    • Cut the paper cup short, color it pink and draw on two nostrils.
    • Glue the cup over the snout and tape a craft stick to the bottom.

Pair it with the cow mask for a farmyard play.

Pigs have very few sweat glands, so they can't cool down by sweating like we do. Rolling in mud keeps them cool and also works like sunscreen for their skin.
